Fort Lauderdale Welcomes The Fort: A New Era for Pickleball

This groundbreaking public-private partnership with the City of Fort Lauderdale promises to deliver world-class pickleball facilities alongside a vibrant mix of social and culinary experiences that embody the South Florida lifestyle.
At the heart of The Fort is its pickleball club, featuring 43 top-tier courts and the world’s first pickleball stadium. This state-of-the-art facility caters to both casual and competitive players with options for open and reserved play, clinics, leagues, and tournaments. Additionally, visitors will have the unique opportunity to watch touring professionals up close. The Fort is designed for all-weather play with 14 weatherproof courts, and it includes a pro shop, locker rooms, and a fitness and recovery center for an unparalleled pickleball experience.
Located within the expansive 93-acre Snyder Park, adjacent to FLL Airport, The Fort is more than just a pickleball hub—it’s a lakeside retreat. Central to its charm is The Lakehouse, where guests can enjoy made-from-scratch dishes and signature drinks while overlooking the serene 7-acre lake. The Fort also features a 4,000 sq ft event center, luxury suites, golf simulators, a dart room, volleyball, paddleboarding, and a game yard with live music, catering to sports fans, food lovers, families, and corporate groups alike.
Founded by longtime Fort Lauderdale residents, The Fort is deeply committed to community support and making a positive impact. The facility will host fundraising events, support local charities, and provide pickleball equipment and training to Fort Lauderdale public schools.
Mayor Dean Trantalis has praised the partnership, noting, “This collaboration highlights the extraordinary potential of public-private ventures, creating over 100 jobs and significantly boosting our city's economy. It aligns perfectly with Fort Lauderdale’s vision of being a world-class live-work-play city.”
Co-founders Brad Tuckman and Rich Campillo are thrilled about the project, stating, “Our partnership with The City of Fort Lauderdale marks a transformative moment for South Florida pickleball. We’re excited to create a space where community and competition come together, offering a welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of skill level.”
Stacy Ritter, president & CEO of Visit Lauderdale, adds, “Pickleball is a cultural phenomenon, and The Fort’s world-first pickleball stadium is a timely addition to Greater Fort Lauderdale’s premier sporting facilities.
